Residents and the city can expect some interesting changes ahead.

That’s more than 6,000 apartments across New Jersey and the greater Boston area. For RHO, it’s a big leap—almost doubling their footprint to just under 12,000 apartments in 40 communities.
The deal also hands RHO oversight of over 182,000 square feet of retail space. This move really cements RHO as one of the region’s largest privately held, third-party multifamily managers.
A Jersey City Focus and a Blast from the Past
What’s especially exciting for us in Jersey City is just how many of these newly managed properties sit right here in our backyard. RHO will now oversee seven properties in the city, totaling 3,783 units.
That’s a big addition and, honestly, it just shows why people keep choosing Jersey City for new places to live. The portfolio also stretches out to the Port Imperial development—a $2 billion, 200-acre Hudson River waterfront community covering Weehawken, West New York, and Guttenberg.
They’re also taking over the Riverwalk at Port Imperial retail center, which covers 90,900 square feet and always seems to be buzzing with activity.
This all comes out of RHO’s recent leap, following the $3.5 billion acquisition of Veris Residential by a group of investors. Craig Solomon of Affinius Capital led the way, working with Vista Hill Partners.
For Brenda Cioce, CEO and President of RHO Residential, this feels like coming full circle. She actually started her career in property management at Roseland Property Management, which eventually became Veris Residential before she launched RHO in 2019.
It’s a bit of a reunion, too. RHO’s picking up 136 former Veris employees, bumping their team up to 250 people.
Bradford Klatt from Vista Hill pointed out that RHO really gets institutional management and has a knack for operations. He also mentioned their commitment to people, which seems pretty rare these days.
RHO calls itself a full-service, people-focused manager. They specialize in Class-A communities across New Jersey, New York, and Massachusetts, handling everything from operations and leasing to marketing, maintenance, resident engagement, and asset optimization.
