Jeeno Thitikul’s Bogey-Free Performance Dominates Mizuho Americas Open

# Thitikul Dominates at Liberty National, Captures Mizuho Americas Open Title

Thailand’s Jeeno Thitikul put on a show at Liberty National Golf Club, grabbing the Mizuho Americas Open title with a four-shot win. Just across the Hudson from Jersey City, she played with a calm confidence, carding a bogey-free 3-under 69 in the final round.

This win marks her first LPGA Tour victory of 2024 and the fifth title in her career so far. Not bad for someone who still seems to be hitting her stride.

Flawless Final Round Secures Victory

Thitikul handled the Liberty National course like she’d been playing it for years. She finished her last 27 holes without a single bogey, which is wild considering the pressure and the field she was up against.

That kind of consistency just set her apart. You could see it in every swing and every decision she made down the stretch.

Key Moments in the Championship Round

Celine Boutier from France tried to make things interesting. She kept up the pressure for most of the final round, but things unraveled for her on the 15th hole after she missed a short putt and took a bogey.

That mistake gave Thitikul the breathing room she needed. Boutier couldn’t recover after that, and the gap just stayed too wide.

World number one Nelly Korda looked like a real threat early on. But a bogey on the ninth hole killed her momentum, and she just couldn’t get it back.

Korda didn’t make a birdie on the back nine and ended up tied for fifth. Sometimes, that’s just how golf goes.

Clutch Play Seals the Deal

Even with all eyes on her, Thitikul kept making the right shots at the right time. She rolled in a 10-foot birdie putt on 17 that pretty much locked things up for her.

By the end, she’d posted a 17-under 271 for the week. That win netted her $450,000 and pushed her season earnings over $1 million. She’s now leading the Race to CME Globe standings, which is kind of a big deal.

Unique Tournament Format

The Mizuho Americas Open, hosted by LPGA legend Michelle Wie West, tried something different this year. Pros got paired with junior golfers from the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA), giving those young players a real taste of the big leagues.

In the AJGA division, which used a modified Stableford scoring system, Aphrodite Deng came out on top. No Canadians made it past the cut this time at Liberty National, which is a bit of a bummer for fans up north.

Jersey City: The Perfect Golf Destination

If you’re a golf enthusiast and Thitikul’s performance caught your eye, Jersey City might just be the place to be. There’s a lot more to do here than just golf, honestly. The city’s got cultural spots, great food, and shopping—so you won’t run out of things to explore.

Liberty National Golf Club sits right nearby, which makes Jersey City a magnet for golf tourists. Thinking about where to stay in Jersey City? There’s everything from luxury hotels to smaller boutique spots, many with those unbeatable Manhattan skyline views.

Plenty of Jersey City hotels roll out special golf packages for guests itching to hit the greens. Each city district brings its own vibe. The waterfront’s all about those epic views, while downtown’s buzzing with cool restaurants and history.

Getting here isn’t a hassle. You’ve got regional airports and train stations close by, so it’s easy for golf fans to make the trip and maybe even walk the same fairways as Jeeno Thitikul at Liberty National.
