Kean’s Commanding Performance

The Cougars came into the match with momentum, and from the first serve, you could tell they wanted to keep it rolling. Ashley Torok led the attack with 12 kills and a .409 hitting percentage, setting a high bar for the rest of the squad.

Morrison backed her up with powerful swings and some really smart placement. The team just looked dialed in.

The third set was closer. NJCU fought back and tied it up at 14-14, giving their fans a spark of hope.

But Kean closed with an 8-3 run, sealing the sweep 25-19. That final push just took the wind out of NJCU’s sails.

Individual Standouts

Aubre Adams and Victoria Latino each added five kills, giving Kean even more offensive options. Setter Aspen O’Brien kept things moving, racking up 23 assists with plenty of poise.

Madeline Dohogne anchored the back row and dug up 18 balls, keeping rallies alive and making NJCU work for every point. Defense really set the tone for Kean all night.

Building Toward the Next Challenge

Kean now shifts focus to Thursday’s road match against PSU-Abington. Keeping their energy and chemistry up will matter as they chase another win in the last stretch of the season.

What This Means for NJCU

The loss stings, but NJCU still has a solid record and a chance to bounce back. Their fight in the third set showed they’ve got grit and some tools to work with.

They’ll look to regroup and use this as a motivator for their next games. It’s all about sharpening up and coming back stronger.
