Swift Accountability and Management Response

The controversy erupted when a trivia team calling themselves “Cornell 7 Inches”—referencing severe rape allegations at Cornell University—won the evening’s “Best Team Name” category. A Reddit user immediately called out the establishment for failing to maintain a safe and inclusive space for women.

Addressing the Outcry

Co-owner Wolf Sterling and management responded rapidly by posting a video apology on social media. Sterling confirmed that the trivia host was terminated within an hour of discovering the lapse in judgment.

To further demonstrate accountability, the bar announced that all proceeds earned from that Wednesday night event would go directly toward sexual violence prevention. Weekly trivia nights will continue under new leadership, featuring local Jersey City burlesque figure Lillian Bustle.

The original Reddit poster later shared appreciation for the establishment’s decisive and transparent actions. The commenter also urged the public to avoid using the isolated incident to unfairly target marginalized groups.

Pint’s owners have reiterated their 17-year dedication to fostering a welcoming environment.
