Yoga Shunya offers compassionate teaching with attention to healthy alignment. Our teachers have trained with John Friend, Rodney Yee, Om Yoga, Richard Freeman, Dharma Mitra, Shiva Rea, and the Integral Yoga Institute of NYC. Classes include asanas (yoga poses), pranayama (breathing techniques), and meditation. Several classes are held daily with additional workshops on a variety of topics. Yoga Shunya is in the beautifully renovated Majestic Theatre building conveniently located in historic downtown Jersey City. Our studio is comfortable, light, and spacious.

We provide yoga blankets, straps, and blocks. We have mats but encourage students to bring their own. We also sell quality yoga products. For your comfort try not to eat for two to three hours before class.

Doors open 15 minutes before classes start. We accept checks or cash. Sorry, no credit cards.

We also offer family, a class for kids and parents to move, stretch, breath, hop like a frog, slither like a snake, and bark like a down-dog. The instructor takes you on imaginative adventures while you and your child explore yoga poses together. The class uses songs, props, and games to engage and inspire. We finish with a foot rub for all the young participants. Appropriate for ages 2½ - 5. Drop-ins welcome. Come play!
