Amina began dancing at the age of 5 and continued through her college years. She'd learned under the instruction of Marie Basse Wiles, Ousman Wiles, Yewande Kelly, Sandella Malloy, Prisca Ouya, Mamadou Diabate, Karen Love, Crystal Harris, and Karen Miles, just to name a few. She has performed at the African Ball, for Minister Louis Farakaan, Mayor Cory Booker, Mayor Wayne Smith, at NJ Performing Arts Center (NJPAC), with Lyben Dance Studio, Maimouna Keita African Dance Company, Zawadi African Dance Company, and is currently a Board Member of Zawadi. She is the Teen & Adult Coordinator and is teaching choreography for Zawadi African Dance Company. She has danced in many, many weddings, retirement parties, Kwanzaa celebrations, at churches, birthday parties, political events, parades, etc. Upon completion of her first degree and a senior African dancer, she became inspired and motivated to give back to the community. She is passing on the information as her teacher’s age and the culture continues to live on by teaching the many traditional moves she'd learned over the last few decades to others.
Amina has lived, loved, is a supporter of, and promoter of African's history and culture.
