Destination Jersey City

The Grove Street Neighborhood encompasses the old historic downtown, situated west of the waterfront.

Here you will find many wonderfully preserved brownstones. Today Grove Street is the cultural center of Jersey City, housing a fabulous art museum and a wonderful selection of galleries, boutiques and restaurants.

Things to do at Grove Street.

- Explore the Jersey City Museum, featuring contemporary American artists.

- Stroll through historic Van Vorst Park, and visit the Farmer’s Market, which is open Mondays & Thursdays, from  4-8pm, June through December.

- Catch an Attic Ensemble theater performance. Original plays are presented in the Barrow Mansion (constructed in 1837).

- Browse Creative Grove Artist’s Market at the Grove Street PATH Plaza, every Friday from 2 pm to 8 pm.

- Stop by City Hall, completed in 1896, and see what’s on exhibit at the John W. Meagher Rotunda Gallery.
