Liberty State Park

Liberty State Park is one of the most extraordinary places in Jersey City... or all of New Jersey. Where else can you find dramatic, close-up views of the New York City skyline, ferries to the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island and Manhattan, the Liberty Landing Marina and boat launch, the Liberty Science Center, the historic Central Railroad Terminal of New Jersey, and hiking trails through a diverse community of wetland plants, birds and animals—all in one park? You'll find many things to do in Jersey City's Liberty State Park.

The Liberty State Park District of Jersey City includes not only the park, but also waterfront homes, the Cochrane Stadium / Caven Point Athletic Complex, and three ferry terminals and bus service to the PATH subway to New York and the Hudson-Bergen light rail system. Port Liberté, on the waterfront at the southernmost tip of the Liberty State Park District, is a quiet Jersey City community of condominiums and town homes with a ferry stop, a restaurant and a luxury day spa.

One of the best ways to see the Manhattan skyline from Jersey City is a stroll along Liberty Walk, a 1.3-mile section of the Hudson River Waterfront Walkway located in the Liberty State Park District. There's nothing like walking along the Hudson River with the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island and the tall buildings of New York as a backdrop. Whether you're visiting Jersey City for a day or two or have lived here for years, Liberty State Park is an experience not to be missed!
